OUR MISSION:
To provide services, information, connections and support to make London Bridge the capital’s best managed and desirable business destination.
In November 2005, rate-paying organisations based in the London Bridge-Tower Bridge area first voted to create a Business Improvement District (BID) and pay annual contributions towards a fund used for services, projects and events that benefit businesses and employees located in the London Bridge area.
Business-led and fully independent, Team London Bridge was set up to manage the area and look after this fund.
Towards the end of the initial five year term in November 2010, eligible businesses voted to continue the BID and its services in London Bridge for another five years.
From 24th Sept to 29th Oct 2015 businesses will again have the opportunity to vote in a ballot to decide the future of the London Bridge BID. A 2016-21 BID Proposal will be available from July 2015.
OUR SERVICES:
Our activities can be broadly grouped under several service headings:
Responsible Business
Helping businesses with their Corporate Social Responsibility work with our Building Bridges programme as well as enhancing their environmental credentials with initiatives such as community recycling and the Smart Green Business scheme.
Safety and Security
We aim to make the London Bridge area as safe and secure as possible – and the perception of safety is just as important to us as crime statistics.
Arts and Culture
Team London Bridge is committed to shifting the perception of the area as a destination ‘to go to’ rather than ‘go through’; to become the place for everyone to experience what makes London one of the most creative and culture-rich cities in the world.
Environment
Providing an enhanced street scene through extra cleaning, greening initiatives and gardening projects with the local community.
Placeshaping
Making sure London Bridge is one of the most sustainable urban neighbourhood in the UK. Developing the Low Line, promoting sustainable transport, enhancing the public realm to put cycling and walking first, and representing the business community in planning consultations.
Place Marketing and Promotion
Our marketing team work to raise the profile of the area and its businesses, both to visitors, local employees and residents, increasing trade and making the area a more vibrant, desirable place to be.
Creating Connections
We organise several networking and information events for London Bridge-based businesses every year. These range from more formal, structured events to more informal social events. We also look to join forces with other membership networks in London to offer levy-paying organisations more opportunities to meet other businesses. Click here to view our events calendar.
