On a pocket of land south of St Thomas Street, a productive vegetable garden and tree-ringed seating area have been created amid an area of historic hop warehouses. Sheltered by red birches, climbing plants, and an unusual strawberry tree, the garden is a rare green spot this close to London
Bridge Station. The vegetable garden is tended by volunteers from the St Mungo’s ‘Putting Down Roots’ project, and supply beans, garlic, salad and more to selected local restaurants.
