Half Moon is a local organisation with a national remit, committed to supporting young people at every stage of their creative development. Working from its base in Limehouse and throughout the community in Tower Hamlets and surrounding boroughs, including Southwark, Half Moon makes a big impact on the lives of young people. The company’s work reaches 23,500 people annually and engages those who are often excluded from arts activity, particularly in terms of culture (ethnicity) and ability (disability).
Half Moon’s activity includes a season of professional plays for young audiences, national touring productions and an extensive creative learning programme, including five youth theatres and a variety of school and community projects. Half Moon works exclusively with young people from birth to age 18 (25 for disabled young people) and with their teachers, carers and parents.
Half Moon has also recently opened a public gallery space in the foyer of its beautiful Victorian building. Half Moon receives regular funding from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and are a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.
