METROPOLITAN POLICE – VOLUNTEER CADETS

The Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) is an uniformed voluntary youth organisation, supported by The Metropolitan Police Service, open to young people aged between 14 -19 from across London’s diverse communities, irrespective of their background or financial circumstances and including those vulnerable to crime or social exclusion.

The unit’s aims are to:

Encourage ‘active’ Citizenship by cadets.
Encourage personal development of cadets by learning new skills.
Become an uniformed team able to help at non-confrontational police events.
Enhance the relationship between the local police, the community and young people in the borough.
Be good ambassadors for the Metropolitan Police.

They would like their cadets to:

Enjoy and promote the benefits of healthy living and a healthy lifestyle.
Achieve vocational qualifications such as the Duke of Edinburgh.
Awards, Junior Sports Leader Awards or First Aid qualifications.
Enjoy outward bound opportunities.
Enjoy having some responsibility and being part of a team.
Have fun and make new friends.
