Teach First is an independent charity launched in 2002 to bring excellent teachers into challenged secondary schools across the UK. Teach First’s mission is to address educational disadvantage by transforming exceptional graduates into effective, inspirational teachers and leaders in all fields.
Educational disadvantage remains one of the most destructive and pervasive problems in the UK- perpetuating inequality and confining thousands of young people up and down the country to a life of unrealised potential. Teach First recall themselves, not just as a case of putting some people into a classroom and filling some gaps, but about creating leaders who are going to have a much wider impact on the communities they serve.
