Jubilee Weekend Celebrations in London Bridge

For those of you that didn’t already know, it is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year and communities across the UK and Commonwealth will be celebrating during an extended Bank Holiday weekend, Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022.

Here, in and around the London Bridge area, there is a growing programme of events and activities to make it a weekend to remember.

Let’s Grow Nannies at Potters Fields Park
Sunday 5th June 1-6PM

Perfect for the kids. Join The Let’s Grow Nannies and their brood of bouncing baby fruits and vegetables in Potters Fields Park for a fun filled immersive experience. Come inside the picket fencing and get stuck into the daily duties of feeding, bathing and caring for all the adorable baby fruits and vegetables. Find out more

Summer by the River
Across the weekend. June – September

Where to start?! A Big Jubilee Tea Dance, a Jubilee Beacon Lighting, Baby Broadway with songs from hit musicals with a Jubilee twist, lots of live music and dance, live coverage from the party at the Palace, and a film – The Queen’s Corgi! All are FREE and part of the Summer by The River Festival (June – Sept) in London Bridge City. Full listings here.   

Bankside Open Spaces Festival
Friday 3rd June, 12-9pm

Join Bankside Open Spaces Trust for their biggest street party since 2019 – it’s FREE and you’re all invited! Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with three stages of live music, dance, kids’ sports and games, delicious food, and much, much more! Borough Market Celebrations
Thursday 2nd June – Sunday 5th June

Borough Market will be open over the extra-long Jubilee weekend, beautifully dressed in regal bunting and featuring music from the last seven decades. Grab some food fit for a Queen for your Jubilee picnic! More here.

Superbloom at Tower of London

This will be a highlight of the summer in London. To mark the Jubilee, over 20 million seeds have been sown in the Tower of London’s famous moat which will develop and morph over the course of the summer, culminating in the creation of a beautiful, new naturalistic landscape. If you want, visitors can grab a mat and slide down into the moat on the Superbloom slide! More and ticket info here. 

Jubilee Skyline Afternoon Tea
Thursday 2nd June – Sunday 5th June

View iconic sculptures and extraordinary royal photography at Shangri-La at The Shard before heading up 35 floors in an elevator-turned-royal chariot to treat yourself to Skyline Afternoon Tea at TiNG Lounge. Transformed into an English Garden complete with a celling of hanging wisteria, your tea at TiNG will feature a spectacular miniature chocolate and raspberry Shard to share, alongside a selection of delicious Jubilee themed desserts including ‘The Pearl of the Queen’ – a pearlescent tonka, vanilla and strawberry gateaux, and a crowned lime and blueberry ‘Jubilee tart’. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration at Potters Fields Park
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June

Local residents are invited Saturday, 4 June 4.00pm to 6.00pm and Sunday, 5 June 1.00pm to 6.00pm. Free henna painting, face painting, music and even lunch for the first 300 to arrive. Our friends the Let’s Grow Vegetable Nannies will be on hand to entertain the young ones. Residents must book their free tickets. More here

For our dogs: Potters Fields Park will be filled with music and the park is always a prime location to take a walk right next to the Thames and in view of Tower Bridge. If you are with your dog why not take a stroll here before you head over to the exhibition at Tower Bridge, where they welcome canines and their owners.

The London Bridge Jubilee Street Party with Network Rail
May 31st 12-5PM

In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 Network Rail is hosting a free street party at London Bridge Station (Stainer Street). Local charity Beyond Food will serve a selection of delicious Jubilee themed refreshments and those stopping by will have the chance to win prizes donated by local partners, including a trip for 2 to The View from The Shard! It’ll be a weekend to be remembered and recorded. So we are working with photographer Henry Reichhold to go along to the Platinum Jubilee pageants on The Mall and create a large-scale photographic installation for London Bridge station. See this exhibition from the start of July.
