Activities

The London Curriculum Family Explorer Trails

Pick up one of our fantastic six trails that will help you explore London and find out how our city has changed over its long history. Each trail is packed with lots of fun activities, puzzles and quiz questions.

MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology)

Meet archaeology experts from MOLA and take a good look at fascinating finds uncovered along the Thames foreshore, London’s longest open-air archaeological site. The objects and fragments found there shed light on the lives of the people who lived and worked in London and help to tell the story of how the Thames shaped the city’s development. You can also have a go at making your own Roman amulet, create a pair of medieval shoes from felt and dress up as a Roman! Drop-in activity.

Institute of Imagination Water Rafting Workshop

The act of making a raft to cross a river is a superb test of skill and ingenuity. The Thames would have seen thousands of crossings in its lifetime before even a single bridge was built across it! In this activity with the Institute of Imagination, make a miniature raft and sail from craft materials and powered by wind, take on the challenge of navigating it down an obstacle-laden river to safety. Perfect for children aged 5-12 years old and their parents and carers. Drop-in activity.

LEGO® Build

The LEGO® Group will be running their Build the Change activity. Your challenge is to build the London of the future – dream big and inspire! Drop-in activity.

SoapboxScience

London’s leading women scientists take to their soapboxes to explain cutting-edge research in fun, interactive and hands-on ways! Get stuck in with science activities on a range of topics and question and probe top scientists about what scientists do.
