London Bridge Open Kitchen brings a foodie crowd to St Thomas Street

London Bridge Open Kitchen returned in June with a glittering line up of traders celebrating the area’s vibrant eating and drinking scene.

Local restaurants served up their culinary delights street-food-style on St Thomas Street for one evening only. Below the gaze of The Shard the chefs, distillers and pubs from the London Bridge area put together exquisite dishes and cocktails especially for the occasion, while craft ales from local brewers were served chilled to the thirsty crowd.

Aqua Shard, Hawksmoor, Hutong, Texas Joe’s, Savannah, Bob’s Lobster, Fourpure, The Hide, Hiver Beer, Constancia and more all took advantage of the opportunity to set up stall along this beautiful arch-lined avenue, while free live music and food making workshops entertained over 2,000 people beside the new London Bridge station.

Judging by the requests to make Open Kitchen a regular feature on St Thomas Street we can only judge it to have been hugely successful! Team London Bridge and our partners will be looking into how we can bring more excitement and local culture to the street in the future. Watch this space!

If you missed out on the event then you can download The London Bridge Summer Cookbook for recipes from #LBOK17 traders and more.

London Bridge Open Kitchen evening was part of the London Festival of Architecture 2017. Check out more photos of the event on Facebook.
