The Low Line is a new walking destination for London along the length of the mighty Victorian railway viaducts spanning Bankside, London Bridge and Bermondsey. It connects diverse neighbourhoods and communities in south London, creating hubs of creativity, entertainment, and industry along its course. As you walk along the Low Line you discover the heritage of the railway arches which have been a part of the area for over 150 years, shaping places of interest along the way and unlocking their potential.
The growth of the Low Line has been organic and it has no finite boundaries, however the concept has been developed around the 4 mile stretch of the viaduct from near the Biscuit Factory in Bermondsey in the East, to Southwark tube station in the west.

Over recent years, the first new sections of the Low Line opened at Old Union Yard Arches and Flat Iron Square in Bankside, complementing established Low Line hubs located at Borough Market, Druid Street, London Bridge, Maltby Street Market, and Spa Terminus.
As you walk along its course, through tunnels and yards, you will discover a side of Bermondsey, London Bridge and Bankside that is well off the beaten track. Breweries, theatres, restaurants and artists sit beside traditional traders, hidden gyms and wholesalers – many places that you wouldn’t usually visit unless you happen upon them.

The concept has developed through a group of initial partners including Better Bankside, Blue Bermondsey, Borough Market, Team London Bridge, The Arch Company, and Southwark Council.
