GAIL BRODHOLT: POETRY, PROSE & PRINT

Published on 04th February 2020

Gail Brodholt is a voracious reader, constantly inspired by the written word. Her stunning linocuts—often depicting the London Underground, train stations, and other scenes of transport—obtain their titles from pieces of poetry or prose that have touched her in some way. This exhibition at Eames Fine Art Gallery coincides with a prestigious project that Gail has been working on with London Transport. She was commissioned to produce prints for two posters to support their initiative ‘Hidden London,’ which aims to open up the secrets of disused parts of the London Underground network. Gail was asked to feature two stations: The Strand / Aldwych station and the Highgate High Level station. Both of these striking posters will be displayed throughout London early 2020. Anita Klein – These Fleeting Days

Published on 03rd April 2018

New paintings and monoprints by acclaimed artist Anita Klein. Her work is an archive of personal moments that everyone can identify with. Witty, charismatic, warm and poignant, she is one of Britain’s finest and most prominent artist and printmakers of the 21st century. “Making a linocut in 10 or 11 colours is like slowly building up a painting. Each colour reacts with those underneath it and throws up surprises which suggest the next colour. The whole process is an absorbing game with its own rules which just ask to be broken” – Anita Klein, 2017 19 April – 13 May at Eames Fine Art Gallery

Published on 05th April 2017

Anita Klein | Out of the Ordinary at Eames Fine Art Gallery  New Linocuts from the past 5 years Internationally recognised, Anita Klein is an artist that inspires, both technically and emotionally. Her new body of prints remind us to stop and notice: Notice what makes us smile, the people we love and the memories that matter. In today’s art world, we are constantly confronted with bright colourful imagery, but rarely met with work that evokes such a raw innate warming response. “Making a linocut in 10 or 11 colours is like slowly building up a painting. Each colour reacts with those underneath it and throws up surprises which suggest the next colour. The whole process is an absorbing game with its own rules which just ask to be broken” – Anita Klein, 2017 Out of the Ordinary will be exhibited at Eames Fine Art Gallery from 20th April – 14th May 2017.
