Easter at Borough Market

Published on 29th March 2022

Borough Market is putting community at the heart of its Easter celebrations this year, centring the festivities around an Easter Tree of Hope, created with help from local schools, charities and friends of the Market. Visitors can also enjoy a special Easter Egg Trail and Quiz. The four-metre-high Easter Tree of Hope will be decorated with more than 200 hand-painted wooden eggs strung on vegetable dyed ribbons and filled with blossom, surrounded by a cornucopia of fruit and vegetables from Market traders to create a sense of Spring abundance and hope for the future. Visitors to the market over Easter can also take part in a special family Easter egg trail. Participants will need to find the answers to the Borough Market Easter Quiz displayed on 8 giant eggs decorated by artist and illustrator Rosie Brooks, hidden amongst the numerous stalls. There will be 50 delicious chocolatey prizes up for grabs each day, from trader So Chocoliciousfor those taking part in the trail.  As always, high quality seasonal produce will be on offer including spring lamb, asparagus, new potatoes, hot cross buns and more treats to make your Easter table. A selection of Easter recipes to cook at home can also be found on the Borough Market website. Over the Easter weekend Borough Market will be open on Good Friday from 10am-5pm and will be operating extended hours on Saturday 16th from 8am-5pm. The Market will be closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday to allow traders to enjoy some time off with their families and friends.   Borough Market’s Easter celebrations will take place from Wednesday 13th April until 19th April.        For more information on Easter at Borough Market, visit: https://boroughmarket.org.uk/events
