Summer by the River 2019

With its wide open spaces and world-famous landmarks, London Bridge is one of the capital’s main stages for big summer events. From 30th May to Saturday 31st August, London Bridge City will present Summer By The River 2019. London’s largest free festival offers a packed schedule of exciting al fresco events and entertainment. Popcity UK Dance Competition comes to London Bridge

Fiya House is excited to present Popcity UK vol.4, in association with Team London Bridge. On Saturday 5 January 2019, this renowned international dance competition arrives at London Bridge. Popcity UK is a space for emerging and established Hip Hop dancers of all ages from across the country to come together to train, share knowledge and to compete. It is open to anyone who is interested in watching or taking part in Street Dance. Popcity will see 450 UK dancers unite for the first Hip Hop event of the year. Featuring international judges, guest performers and live DJs, the battle will create an authentic Hip Hop experience with artists from around the globe and around the corner. Winners will have the chance to represent the UK at the Popcity Finals in Asia, in December 2019. Summer of Music at The Shard

This August The View from The Shard are quite literally taking music to new heights with their first ever Summer of Music, 800ft above the city! Throughout the month an array of artists will be performing at the top of the iconic structure, with the goal of raising the roof in London’s highest riser. Catch performances from the likes of the Hoosiers, Artful Dodger and DJ Pied Piper. Check out the full line up *Over 18s ONLY, proof of age may be required. Tickets are subject to availability. All attendees are subject to be screened and searched, as part of the building policy.

Julius Caesar at The Bridge Theatre

Caesar returns in triumph to Rome and the people pour out of their homes to celebrate. Alarmed by the autocrat’s popularity, the educated élite conspire to bring him down. After his assassination, civil war erupts on the streets of the capital.  Nicholas Hytner’s second production at the Bridge Theatre promises to be action packed, thrusting its audience into the street party that greets Caesar’s return, the congress that witnesses his murder, the rally that assembles for his funeral and the chaos that explodes in its wake. Ben Whishaw and Michelle Fairley play Brutus and Cassius, leaders of the coup, David Calder plays Caesar and David Morrissey is Mark Antony, who brings Rome back under control after the conspirators’ defeat. With seating wrapped around the action, there will also be 250 promenading tickets at £25 available in advance for each performance. Hoopla Comedy Improv Marathon

Join The Miller on October 20th as they host the launch of Hoopla Impro’s takeover with The Hoopla Improv Marathon. This venture marks the creation of the UK’s first full-time improv comedy venue, Hoopla at The Miller, with unscripted and spontaneously created performances programmed Monday to Saturday with up to 10 shows a night. Read more about Hoopla. The marathon is inspired by New York City’s Del Close Marathon, spanning across 50 consecutive hours with over 100 improv shows and over 200 improvisers coming together from across the UK – the biggest gathering of improv performers and groups the country has ever seen. Stay tuned for full line-up.  The Hoopla Improv Marathon is a charity event, raising awareness of Team Margot, an organisation that campaigns for people to register as potential bone marrow/stem cell donors. All profits will go to charity and Hoopla and The Miller aim to register 200+ new donors over the course of the marathon. In exchange for signing up, participants will receive a free drink courtesy of The Miller and the opportunity to potentially save a life.
