THE WOLF, THE DUCK AND THE MOUSE

Published on 20th September 2023

Join the Unicorn Theatre this Christmas for the stage adaptation of Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen’s brilliantly subversive picture book which finds joy and friendship in the darkest and most unusual of places. One day Mouse is gobbled up by a wolf. ‘Oh woe’ says Mouse, who fears this must be the end. But then we discover Duck, who was, until Mouse arrived, taking a nap. As it turns out, it’s pretty nice living inside the belly of the beast with a new friend. There’s delicious food, dancing and – better still – no more fear of being eaten! Meanwhile, outside in the forest, things aren’t quite as rosy for Wolf who is being stalked by a hunter. Realising their fates are intertwined, Duck and Mouse hatch a winning plan… Book tickets

10 Family Places to Eat Out in London Bridge

Published on 23rd May 2022

General, Uncategorised

Finding somewhere to eat out that all the family will enjoy can be a lengthy and thankless task. To help you out, we’ve come up with our list of options in London Bridge. We’ve looked at menus, setting, and price to steer you in the right direction, however there are dozens more places to eat in the area in our full listings. The Real Greek Tower Bridge – The chain has a great setting beside Tower Bridge and offers a Kid’s Menu for £7. Some free advice, don’t offer the little ones a Souvlaki, say it’s a chicken wrap and they’ll be all over it! Vapiano – Not much beats freshly made pasta and pizza if you’re under 10 (or over 10 for that matter!). Overlooking Potters Fields Park, Vapiano has a Kid’s Menu for £7.95 and is set in a bright, fun space that children feel welcome in. Five Guy’s – Not one for the babies, but older children will be begging you to come back for the REESE’S Peanut Butter Cup milkshake and the enormous Bacon Cheese Dog. A winner dinner. Comptoir Libanais – The London Bridge branch of this Lebanese chain is beautifully decked out, close to the station. The Kid’s Menu offers delicious wraps, homemade lemonade, and something sweet and tasty. Pizza Pilgrims – On Tooley Street, close to London Bridge Station, Pizza Pilgrims has a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of pizza toppings to keep the whole family happy. If they can’t finish it, box it up and take it for later – that’s dinner solved too! Cafe Piazza – Under the striking vaulted roof of Hay’s Galleria, Cafe Piazza knows how to please a crowd, with sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, salads and lots of vegan options. With a totally covered terrace you’ll never feel fall victim to the British weather. Caffe Nomma Italian – Sitting on the edge of Potters Fields Park, Caffe Nomma Italian brings artisan ice cream from Calabria and Southern Italy’s number one coffee to this wonderful riverside setting. Not to mention the selection of homemade pasta and sauces. Absolutely Starving – A London Bridge stalwart, Absolutely Starving has been feeding London Bridge since long before The Shard rose above our heads. Sit in or take out to the riverside. Soups, salads, hot meals, sandwiches and more types of baked goods than Mr Kipling ever saw in his life! Gaucho Tower Bridge – You can sit down to a beautiful sirloin while the little darlings choose from a Children’s menu that includes mac ‘n cheese, fish and chips and burgers. All with views across the Thames! Creams – Have they been good today? If so, a treat at the Creams Cafe next to the London Bridge Experience is in order. The Café offers a wide range of delicious crepes, waffles, gelato, milkshakes and more, including a range of hot chocolates and coffees to take-away! Alternatively, head to one of the many lovely takeaways and cafes, or put together a picnic from the local supermarkets, and head to one of the many green spaces in London Bridge.

Jumping Buses

One of our favourite stories is when a bus jumped over an opening Tower Bridge in December 1952. Create your own stop-motion animation to take home. Family activities are free with admission, drop in and open to children of all ages but are particularly appropriate for those aged 6 to 10.
