National Poetry Day at London Bridge Station

Connect with the power of poetry as some of the country’s most outstanding spoken word poets perform at London Bridge on 3rd October for National Poetry Day. National Poetry Day recognises poetry’s capacity to bring people together with a national celebration across the UK every October. This year it marks its 25th anniversary with a fitting theme for our time; TRUTH. Join us beside the ticket office on the concourse from 4pm-5pm and 6pm-7pm and stop for a moment to witness the power of a single, passionate poetic voice. A Celebration of Classic Rock & Metal for Make Music Day with Black Helium and Possessor, both leaders in their disciplines and champions of their genres from London. Expect heavy rock and metal with a shot of Punk energy.   Free entry. Bands from 8pm. The Underdog London was first established back in 2007 on the Old Kent Road SE1, as an art gallery and live music studio. The ethos was to promote up and coming artists and creatives of all types and  genres but mostly in the graphic art and rock music scenes, gig poster design, graffiti / street and outsider art. The Underdog has since evolved in its current surroundings since 2011 in London Bridge, still staying true to its ethos of championing the outsider, but working and growing alongside some amazing, up and coming and well established artists and musicians. Comida Fest 2019

The biggest Latin American street food festival in London returns to Potters Fields Park for 2019,  bringing the most authentic street food, drinks and culture to the iconic riverside location.  Sample traditional and new flavours from across the continent with delicacies from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru and more! Comida Fest also promises a sizzling cultural line up of Latin American music and dancers. Ciderdog returns to London Bridge this July for its seventh year. Held in The Miller pub’s outside bar, Ciderdog features a staggering 100+ British ciders & perries on tap. Musicity x Low Line

Musicity invites musicians and recording artists to compose audio tracks in response to buildings and spaces in locations around the world. Founded in 2010 by BBC Radio 3 Late Junction presenter and radio producer Nick Luscombe, Musicity encourages audiences to venture out, to explore cities and to experience the urban environment in new and unexpected ways. As part of this year’s London Festival of Architecture Musicity has worked with musicians and sound artists each responding to 15 locations along The Low Line, focusing on the railway arches that have been part of Bankside, London Bridge and Bermondsey’s heritage for over 150 years. Each track will be geo-tagged to a different location including Flat Iron Square, Borough Market, Ewer Street, Bermondsey Street Tunnel, Southwark Cathedral, The Biscuit Factory, Vinegar Yard and others, and will be accessible for streaming via the Musicity smartphone webapp. Artists include Szjerdene, Erland Cooper, Suitman Jungle, William Doyle, Nabihah Iqbal, Chihiro Ono, The Memory Band, Gestalt, Frog Morris, Lossy, Cunning Folk, Tom Szirties, James Alec Hardy, Lola de la Mata and Thomas Stone. Meet the Maker at Prosecco House

This ‘Meet the Maker’ series will include three producers handpicked by the owner of London’s first prosecco bar: Marchiori, 1st October Rivalta, 22nd October Cirotto, 19 November Alongside a fascinating overview of their history and the prosecco making process, each producer will give exclusive insight into what defines their different varieties, while guests enjoy tastings of the proseccos from each vineyard.
