LBOK Festival celebrates London Bridge’s thriving dining scene

Published on 09th July 2018

The annual London Bridge Open Kitchen festival returned this June, celebrating the area’s flourishing food and drink scene. Our favourite local chefs and mixologists were out in force to serve up their creations street-food style in front of the new London Bridge Station. Here’s what we got up to…  Thousands of foodies were treated to dishes from the likes of Tom Simmons, Londrino, Aqua Shard and Santo Remedio, with Prosecco House keeping crowds hydrated alongside local brewers Hiver, Small Beer Brew Co. and Fourpure. Crispy Beef Short Rib from Tom Simmons Tower Bridge World renowned chef Leandro Carreira (pictured right) opened his first solo venture Londrino in London Bridge in November 2017. Aqua Shard descended 31 floors to serve their Braised Hereford beef cheek and Bubble & Squeak with slow cooked duck egg and back summer truffle. Mexican inspired Santo Remedio served up a selection of their trademark tacos and launched their new 1800 Tequila Coconut Margarita cocktail – available at their dedicated Tequila & Mezcal bar. London Bridge Open Kitchen brings a foodie crowd to St Thomas Street

Published on 06th July 2017

London Bridge Open Kitchen returned in June with a glittering line up of traders celebrating the area’s vibrant eating and drinking scene. Local restaurants served up their culinary delights street-food-style on St Thomas Street for one evening only. Below the gaze of The Shard the chefs, distillers and pubs from the London Bridge area put together exquisite dishes and cocktails especially for the occasion, while craft ales from local brewers were served chilled to the thirsty crowd. Aqua Shard, Hawksmoor, Hutong, Texas Joe’s, Savannah, Bob’s Lobster, Fourpure, The Hide, Hiver Beer, Constancia and more all took advantage of the opportunity to set up stall along this beautiful arch-lined avenue, while free live music and food making workshops entertained over 2,000 people beside the new London Bridge station. Judging by the requests to make Open Kitchen a regular feature on St Thomas Street we can only judge it to have been hugely successful! Team London Bridge and our partners will be looking into how we can bring more excitement and local culture to the street in the future. Watch this space! If you missed out on the event then you can download The London Bridge Summer Cookbook for recipes from #LBOK17 traders and more.
