This Summer, Provisions returns to Courage Yard, a range of delicious pop-ups, taking place every Saturday from 11am – 4pm and beginning on Saturday 25th July   This season, some of London’s finest independent producers, makers and creators will be selling their wares so you can fill your home with delicious and delightful goods!  Courage Yard is just a 5-10 minute walk from London Bridge or Tower Hill tube stops All provisions pop-ups will adhere to government guidance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Borders of Shad Thames: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

This walking tour of the historic riverside area of Shad Thames is part of London Festival of Architecture 2019, exploring the festival’s theme of boundaries.  The walk begins at The Dixon Hotel with complimentary refreshments and an introduction to the area, and hear about converting this former Magistrates Court and Police Station into a leading-edge hotel. The group will then head off on foot, stopping at Tower Bridge Court (TBC) to learn about the upcoming refurbishment of this office building. The walk continues looking at private and public spaces along the backstreets and waterside, ending with a visit to Anise Gallery to see their LFA photography exhibition Every Building on the Old Kent Road 2019. 10.30AM – 12.30PM Meet at The Dixon Hotel, 211 Tooley Street, London SE1 2JX Free, no booking required

Come aboard the Dixie Queen to join Inua Ellams’ Rhythm And Poetry Party as we sail down the Thames… What might eloquent voices from contemporary poetry and spoken word movements have to say about hip-hop’s past, present and future? Come find out at Inua Ellams’ Rhythm And Poetry Party…a nostalgic, no-clutter, no-fuss, night of hip-hop-inspired poems and favourite hip-hop songs. Specifically curated for the Totally Thames, this event features Laurie Bolger, Anthony Anaxagorou, Danielle Dash, Tyrone Lewis, Ella Frears, Al The Native, Michelle Tiwo, Ross Sutherland, Theresa Lola and Inua Ellams. The R.A.P Party has been at the Southbank Centre, Rich Mix, Shoreditch House, Dublin International Literature Festival, Lagos International Poetry Festival, Cheltenham Literature Festival, Brighton Dome to name a few. Bridging Identities: Shad Thames Reinvented

Explore the iconic Shad Thames and discover its evolving identity at this free event, part of the upcoming London Festival of Architecture. Starting with local hospitality in a riverside restaurant, you’ll then hear about the area’s 19th century history, its reinvention through regeneration in the 1980s, and current developments. The discussion will be framed around buildings and social history from all periods as well as the riverside location, and the two bridges shaping Shad Thames – Tower Bridge and St Saviours Dock footbridge, both of which have exciting developments coming up. The event will end with a short walk around the area, finishing at Anise Gallery/AVR where you can visit their LFA exhibition “Scents of Shad Thames: Experience history through the senses” which explores the identity of Shad Thames in unexpected ways. Street Food Markets Presents: BITE

Date: 15th September, 11am-3pm Location: Courage Yard, Shad Thames SE1 2NJ On 15th September, Streetfoodmarkets are embarking on their newest event – Bite at Courage Yard. Bringing the latest and greatest in the street food scene to spice up your lunch hour, Bite will see over 15 of London’s most innovative and sought after vendors pitch up in the space. Need a little flavour? How about Caribbean vibes from The Jerk Joint with their incredible BBQ ribs, spiced up Columbian from Mulata Cuisine and of course the obligatory gourmet burgers by Cheeky Burger. Everyone will be catered for, and there will be veggie, vegan and gluten-fee offerings too. And for those who aren’t solely motivated by food, there will be music and outdoor games to keep you well and truly entertained. Guided Walk: Why do we love Shad Thames?

Part of Totally Thames Festival, this free event led by STAMP (Shad Thames Area Management Partnership) will guide you through the transformation of Shad Thames from an industrial centre in the Pool of London to a desirable riverside location to live, work and visit, and signalling what direction it might take in future.  Where? Meet at 10.30am on a boat moored at Butlers Wharf Pier for refreshments, an introduction to the area and personal stories about Shad Thames. Then head out on foot to discover local placemarks that contribute to the area’s character and make it distinctive.
