Shard Lights 2022

The Shard’s annual seasonal display – Shard Lights – returns on Tuesday 6th December. The event will see the top 20 storeys of Western Europe’s tallest building lit up with a display designed to celebrate the Capital at Christmas. The light display will be set to a bespoke audio track that will be available to stream online, in sync with the light show. Londoners will be able to listen to the soundtrack, featuring sounds from the waves of the Thames to the bells of St Paul’s, wherever they are in London as they gaze up at the light show running in time with the music. Using updated energy efficient LED lighting, Shard Lights 2022 ­­will begin at 18:00 on the 6th of December. The display will continue from 17.30 every evening until New Year’s Eve, helping to brighten up the winter evenings for all Londoner’s commuting home. Find out more

Shard Lights 2020

Illuminated with visual effects in shades of blue and white, this year’s Shard Lights display has been specially designed to show gratitude to all NHS staff and key workers. Shard Lights will launch on the evening of the 26th November. Made up of 575 LED lights and fixtures across the top 20-storeys of The Shard (800ft to 1,016ft), Shard Lights is the highest light show in Western Europe. On Friday 11th December Shard Lights will have a festive twist, featuring a new display inspired by the traditional colours of Christmas. The show will end on New Year’s Eve with a unique display from when the clock strikes midnight to the early hours of New Year’s Day. Londoners can take a look out of their windows or look up when on the move to see the spectacle.
