Illuminated with visual effects in shades of blue and white, this year’s Shard Lights display has been specially designed to show gratitude to all NHS staff and key workers. Shard Lights will launch on the evening of the 26th November. Made up of 575 LED lights and fixtures across the top 20-storeys of The Shard (800ft to 1,016ft), Shard Lights is the highest light show in Western Europe. On Friday 11th December Shard Lights will have a festive twist, featuring a new display inspired by the traditional colours of Christmas. The show will end on New Year’s Eve with a unique display from when the clock strikes midnight to the early hours of New Year’s Day. Londoners can take a look out of their windows or look up when on the move to see the spectacle. For those unable to visit Shard Lights this year, see videos and photos on The Shard Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Tag your pictures with #ShardLights.
Shard Lights is a show full of colour and sparkles. This December, the night sky around The Shard will be illuminated with a mesmerising pattern every 15 minutes, and each hour will be marked with a dazzling display. Leading to a crescendo at midnight, Shard Lights creates a visual timepiece for the capital. If you capture a photo on your camera or phone, enter the #ShardLights competition for a chance to win photography equipment and some incredible experiences at The View from The Shard, aqua shard and oblix east. There’s a different colour to capture each day. Counting down to the start of 2018, see a unique white display on New Year’s Eve before the final colour display from when the clock strikes midnight to dawn on New Year’s Day.
